A family friendly restaurant attached to the historic Lord Leycester Hotel, be warned that shrieking kids are a possibility (and sadly a reality during our visit). The staff were pleasant and though my lamb shank was not among the best I've had it was still good, and my girlfriend enjoyed her carbonara tagliatelle. With lemon torte unavailable I had the lemon & lime bavarois (mousse) which was frankly tasteless. Also the big TV screen showing Ch4 news was not conducive to relaxing dining.

We walked in and were sat in a separate room (what I imagine to be the Sunday cavery or breakfast room) away from other diners, the music came from a small stereo in the corner with no surround sound speakers which played Frank Sinatra - I think this made the evening for me as I do like a bit of Frank. The food was really tasty but not as described in the menu-Broccoli in Carbonara?. The staff lacked confidence but were very helpful and polite. The toilets had an aroma of plaster but were clean.
