We had a fantastic meal at Harts resturant on Saturday. The food and service were excellent. If there is any critism we felt just slightly rushed between courses. A little more resting time would have been great. You dont want to rush such excellent food ! We presumed that they had a later booking for our table. Having said that if you are wanting a 'special' meal and are prepared to pay then this is the place to go.

The food was excellent - in particular the roast pheasant and the fig tatin. The staff made a special effort particularly once they knew we were celebrating our wedding anniversary but sometimes the service felt a little slow. One negative comment regards the gents toilet, which whilst clean, had an overpowering smell of 'public toilets'.

Harts has a very good reputation, which I why I decided to take my mum there for her 60th birthday. It was even better than I expected. The combinations of food on the plate were at times a little unusual but they went together so beautifully that the food definitely deserves the label 'gourmet'. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone and will definitely go again!

This was our third visit to Harts and the dinner was as good as we remembered. The menu is extremely varied and everything from the bread to the puddings was of excellent quality and beautifully presented. Venison, fish and beef were among the possible main courses. Last Friday the restaurant was full with an eclectic mix of diners who all seemed to be having a good time.

Harts Nottingham- great atmosphere, great food and great service. This was fine dining without any stuffy pretentiousness-highly recommended.

We had a very pleasant Sunday Lunch at Hart's Restaurant. There was free parking in the Hotel. The food was very competent but not exceptional, except for the Creme Brulee which was the best I've tasted in the UK- 8/10 on my rating scale.

Good food and service and a nice ambience. The fixed price menu was particularly good value

Initially we were made very welcome and the service was attentive and swift. There was a business like feeling about the restaurant but that would explain the recent award for 'best location for business lunch 2007'. The food was served very quickly and it was all fantastic, although my chocolate pudding dessert was not great. We thought that the cost of starters and desserts was a little too high. Overall Hart's Restaurant was above average and we would recommend it to friends.

Excellent lunch deal let down slightly by the inclusive service charge. We ate chicken liver terrine which was fabtastic and carrot and carraway seed soup which were both excellent and then baby dover sole- seafood vinagrette was a bit fishy and confit duck leg- sublime. Only minus points were some staff were a little slow and the toilet i used wasn't great, it also appeared to be unisex which i thought a little odd. The ambience was buzzy- perfect for lunch and the food delicious!

There's something wrong with a restaurant that can serve a starter comprising 2 scallops and a bunch of leaves with too much taragon in the dressing for £13.95 + 12%!! And then to follow it with a small piece of sea bass and risotto and charge £18.50 + 12% for this. Hart's has a lovely position in Nottingham, courteous staff and a pleasant ambience. The menu should be gone over- there were 3 dishes including risotto, and portion size needs reappraising if they are to receive higher scores.
