Lovely large bowls of Pho. Imperial rolls and crispy squid also excellent. Roll your own prawn summer rolls were not as good - prawns a bit on the small side and dry.

Regularly visit the Hanoi cafe. Have to say that on this occasion the Tempura batter didn't seem to be true Tempura and was really greasy. The morning glory was well overcooked as well. Overall I've had better here. Hope it's a one off.

Regular visitor to the Hanoi cafe. The standard of food can sometimes slip here, but is generally more consistent than some of the other Vietnamese restaurants in Kingsland Rd. Today, the quality was particularly good and my guests were impressed. The braised tofu and aubergine was particularly popular. Shall return!

Been to the Hanoi Cafe a few times now. Like most of the Vietnamese cafe/restaurants in Kingsland Rd, there's never enough staff so you don't get great service, but it's cheap and the food is consistently good (unlike some of the others in the road that I've been to). There's also a lot of vegetarian options. So, good value for the money and worth returning to.

Duck dishes were great, other dishes were a bit bland/ oily. Service was quick and friendly.

This wasn't my first trip to Hanoi Cafe, nor will it be my last. Well-located cheap and cheerful isn't easy to come by in London, which makes this place a diamond in the culinary rough. The greens are always crunchy, the tofu tasty, and the service fast and friendly. And unlike so many Shoreditch eateries, you can leave your pretensions at the door. Hooray!

The food is delicious and absolutely amazing value for money. The setting is basic and not great for a romantic meal, but for a group of friends eating before heading out it was perfect. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

Hanoi cafe is amazing value for money, the food was delicious and very cheap. The atmosphere is not amazing but that didn't really matter.

Hanoi Cafe offers great food at bargain prices and is a nice little find in the Vietnames Quarter at Old Street

Great place if you are looking for cheap and cheerful. Service was slow but the house wine was really good. All in all a tasty good value place in London.
