Reviews of Garden Lodge

I went to the Garden Lodge restaurant with my colleagues for lunch and we were the only ones there. Food was very good and portions for main were big. However, the service was a little slow today so we needed more than an hour!

Food was good once again - though the veggy side dishes seemed slightly smaller in portion?! Would go back again.

The initial lack of a booking at the Garden Lodge, despite confirmation, did not bode well. However the food and service was very good. There was an interesting split between the "traditional dishes" you encounter in most restaurants and dishes which were at times new to me.. The Chicken with Chilli starter was superb. Normally it is hard to find a poor Sauvignon Blanc from Chile - but it is on this menu. Urgent change is needed! Therefore I can only fully recommend the food and service.

Our 2nd visit to The Garden Lodge and again we had a very good experience. Great space and clean tables/dining area, the waiters were on the ball and had a good sense of humour. Food - not as 'different' as we thought it was last time, but still great quality and value for money - big chunks of meat and veg, no oily mush! We'll definitely go back, especially if there's 20% off again :)

Garden Lodge offers fairly traditional Indian cuisine. Food quality is good and portions quite large. It was a mistake to have starters!

The Garden Lodge was nothing to look at and the bar area needs improving but the restaurant, food and service was really good. Will definitely be going back.

The restaurant was very quiet - we were the only diners! The food was to usual standard, the portions are huge and we ended up with a doggy bag! Didnt disappoint.

Good food in a pleasant environment. Friendly staff. And not overwhelmingly busy considering it was a saturday evening - made for a relaxing night out.

The Indian food at The Garden Lodge, Letchworth is freshly cooked and subtely spiced. The table cloth and linen napkins were spotless and the service was fast, efficient and friendly; however as it was Bank Holiday Monday lunchtime and we were the only customers. I dined here in the evening, some time ago and the restauant was packed, but the service was still excellent.

My boyfriend's birthday was last week and to celebrate we decided to find a different restaurant to eat at - we usually go out with his family to one of 3 high street places - but this time needed a change. What a pleasure it was to dine at Garden Lodge Indian restaurant- especially after taking a risk as no one we knew had eaten there before. All the dishes were full of chunky pieces of meat or veg (no unidentifiable slop). The service was lovely and the restaurant itself very modern. Great!

Nice restaurant and nice food - very quiet but we were there for 6pm on a Tuesday evening so it is difficult to score properly! Will go back again tho..

Dined here previously, and has always been the best Indian in the area - recently seems to have had a revamp, but the food is still excellent and relaxed environment makes for a more sophisticated meal than the generic post-pub curry houses around

The Garden lodge is in a quiet area of Letchworth Garden City. Well recommended for diners looking for a varied menu and friendly service.
