Reviews of Galileo's

Want a quick post theatre meal? Galileo is the place for you! Want a romantic dinner for 2 in a central London Italian eatery - go somewhere else! We hurried from the theatre thinking if we were late they may give our table away - however, if they had they would have been completely empty (and it's a massive restaurant!) fab food, great service, but slightly odd when the staff outnumber the guests by 6 to 1! (we were there at 9.30pm on a Friday)

Food and service was very good at Galileo's which given that it is in a tourist area it was a pleasant surprise. Some of the dishes seem a little bit expensive but that's London these days. Generally a good experience and evening all round.

Galileo's was a pleasant pre-theatre meal. Not fine dinner but good value for money.

Galileo's was slightly lacking in atmosphere but the food was tasty and the menu extensive. The sea bass was very good and the starters fairly standard. Service was attentive. We were sat by the window which was nice; the downstairs is a bit gloomy.

We had a perfectly pleasant lunch at Galileos. Nothing was outstanding, but the food and service were perfectly fine.

After a visit to the theatre, my daughter and I met up with some friends and the seven of us had a meal together. We actually arrived an hour earlier than expected but it was no problem; Galileo's accommodated us. Our waiter was excellent and gave us plenty of time to choose; he could see we were having a good chat at the same time. He was helpful and quite funny, too. All seven meals arrived together and all were delicious. This was my third visit, all have been good and I will return.

Gallileo's has many good features and the food and service were good. However, an alarm went off constantly just next to the table, and we were sat next to the door which let in very cold draughts of air every time it opened - not good! On a warmer evening it would have been OK, and they did shift the table a little to get away from the bleeping alarm, even so, the meal was spoilt by these domestic problems somewhat.

really good food. ok choice for veggie's... service was ok but one male waiter, luckily he didn't serve us! he was sweating A LOT! and wiping his forehead with his hand and then touching people's plates, cutlery etc, not nice!!! table was tiny! like a little tiny pub table. didn;t lose toilets but boyfriend said they were not nice, small and not looked after. would recommend the food tho.

My girlfriend and I went here on Valentines night, when we were taken to our table we automatically walked away, our table was so close to the other table I felt like I was in a sandwich! But obviously being a busy night I made an exeption. We waited for about 15 minutes in the bar area and then were taken to a more suitably "romantic" table. They had good deals on at the time which involved a set menu althought we didnt choose it looked quite good. The waitress was very friendly and the food was also good. If I was in town I would go again.
