Excellent food. Expensive but worth it for a treat.

Food at Fishermans Lodge was beautifully presented and very tasty. Service was efficient but rather aloof!

Fisherman's Lodge is located in the idyllic settings and perfect for summer evenings. Fresh, seasonal dishes and the black bream was tender and tasty but it is possible to find less expensive prices elsewhere! There also seems to be a lack of atmosphere on weekdays- but generally, a trusted place to treat loved ones for a high quality meal.

Excellent service, superb food and great ambience. This lunch was the highlight of our weekend visit.

It had been several years since we last visited Fisherman's Lodge, and we were excited to return. The location, tucked down a small lane in the heart of Jesmond Dene, is idyllic. Upon arrival we were seated in the lounge and given the menu for perusal. We thought the selections were a bit limited but enjoyed the amuse bouche provided before we were seated. The food (fillet of beef and haddock) was well prepared but the slow and indifferent service was quite disappointing.

The Fishermans Lodge is famous for being expensive and we were not disappointed.Unfortunately the tempura king prawns were soggy and the restaurant had run out of the £17 a bottle shiraz but just managed to find a cabernet sauvignon for £25. Something to talk about at dinner parties.

The Fisherman's Lodge was adequate; food was lovely, but service was slow - not what I would call value for money.

The traffic when driving to the Fisherman's Lodge was extremely busy so we rang to say that we maybe a little late and had to leave a message on their anwser machine,so we were a bit concerned that it maybe a problem. Howver when we arrived they said they had tried to ring us backand welcomed us. Nothing was a problem excellent service choice of tables and very attentive waitors. The food was wonderful and beautifully presented, very relaxing atmospherewe would reccommend this to anyone .
