Great location and relaxed atmosphere, food was excellent though limited in choice. Service was a little slow but all waiters very friendly and accomodating. Overall an really enjoyable experience, nice venue for a special occasion, would thoroughly recommend it.

Fallowfields does many things very well - great surroundings and pretty dining room (a bit Laura Ashley, though) together with charming French staff. Waiter very sensitively suggested an alternative wine which proved excellent, and the service at table was most attentive. Our waitress couldn't tell venison from pheasant, though, and the latter was a bit tough. Otherwise the food was very good, first rate ingredients and presentation - and the puddings were nothing short of historic. Worth it.

My wife and I dined at Fallowfields Friday 8th Feb.to take advantage of their special offer of 2 courses and complimentary Kir for 20 pounds. The food, service and surroundings very good But when the bill came we were disillusioned to find that the cost had risen to 58.50. for two courses plus a bottle of mineral water and one coffee. This is why I give a low value for money and low reccommendation assessment.

A lovely find on the outskirts of Oxford. The food was very well prepared, and delicious. The service good. Well-recommended.

Fallowfields was a wonderful dining experience. Pre-dinner canopes served with drinks in the bar were delicious. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Attention to detail and presentation of food on the plate was superb. Vegetables served with main courses would have been nice. Service unfortunately, seemed to dwindle throughout the meal. Wine should have been left on the table or in an ice bucket close to the guests, rather than left on a window sill as staff were inattentive at re-pouring.

This country house restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, the service was friendly and efficient, and I especially liked the food miles on the menu - the soup was from the vegetable garden and had food miles of 10 yards! I had the delicious scallop and leek special, a very tender and tasty rack of lamb, and a nice wobbly pannacotta. Fallowfields is a very civilised venue, perfect for a special occasion if you want somewhere that isn't raucous and noisy.

very good meal with vegetables that had real taste. it was obvious that the chef gave real added value to fine ingredients

My wife and I decided to dine at Fallowfields for our wedding anniversary. The service started off flawless, but tailed off during the meal, where i had to ask for my bottle of wine to be returned so i could fill my glass. The food quality was excellent, but maybe could have been cooked better, both diners having over cooked fillet of beef. One thing I did find very annoying is that they charge 2.5% when you pay by credit card, which I believe is not warranted when you're paying well over £100
