Amazingly rapid service, great atmosphere and excellent guacamole!

I've been here before and enjoyed the food, however, this time was a complete let-down. I had a chilli that was the blandest chilli I've ever eaten, beatable by a 1.99 Tesco microwaveable one. Admittedly on other visits here, the food has been good, but this review is just for this visit. Rest of the place acceptable, service/ambience etc, but for a Mexican restaurant, I've been to better places.

We all loved El Mexicano. The food was wonderful traditional Mexican food with some Argentinian dishes thrown in too. gorgeous and tasty and staff were attentive and very accommodating (particularly as were a small but oddly dressed hen party). We'd all definitely go again.

We recently went to El Mexicano, its the 2nd time and we love it! We live in shropshire and make a point in eating there now when we are in Brighton, It`s fantastic food! Will be booking online again before we return later in the year ! It`s great that we can reserve online!

El Mexicano - The staff were excellent. We arrived nearly 45 mins late (marshalling the troops from the pub) and they were so kind about staying a wee bit late to feed us. It was my husband's 50th and they responded in a lovely and kind way. Good food for the money - will certainly go again. Thank you El Mexicano!

This restaurant was disappointing. The food was very average. I had the sirloin steak, the dearest item on the menu, requested as medium rare. When it was brought out it was well done and ruined!! Unfortunately, we would not recommend this restaurant.

We had a pleasant meal at El Mexicano, good service, a good range of food, which was tasty. Portion sizes are generous. The restaurant has several vegetarian options. I would eat here again.

We went to El Mexicano on Sunday and the weather was terrible hence nobody around town and nobody at the restaurant either. We had a couple of tapas for aperitif one of which was boiled potatoes with some aioli - strange. We chose the set menu for £6.95 for a starter and main - starter was average but the chili con carne was very tasty and different from the usual chili you may cook. Overall the place lack ambiance and je ne sais quoi for us to go back. Nice and pleasant staff too.

A decent Mexican with fair range of choice. Great service from the Spanish waitress who was very patient with our poor Spanish
