Reviews of Edwinns - Englefield

A return visit to Edwinns which proved as pleasant an experience as ever. Excellent value 2-for-1 lunch offer. Food fine, but marred only by the chicken dish and vegetables being somewhat tepid, whilst the fish pie was piping hot and abundant. Wine good, but why do they only supply it by the glass in those very large 250 ml glasses.

Edwinns at Englefield provide another excellent evening.Service was efficent and friendly and altho' eary evening the restaurant, in a lovely setting was brisk. Sirloin Steak was cooked to perfection but the salmon was a little raw, but replaced without fuss and an additional serving of vegtables and a new piece of salmon, rather than original being recooked. With the offer good value and would highly recommend.

Shame. We'd been to Edwinns at Englefield before and had a great dining experience. This time, something clearly went wrong. Three of our four main courses arrived with an apology from the waitress that the fourth would be "a couple of minutes". One of the meals served was cold and another part-cold, part-piping hot. Eventually we were served properly and to be fair the food was very good. Free desserts were offered and accepted by way of apology, but the evening was already spoiled

Becoming a firm favourite of ours, because of the consistently good food and the good service. Well worth a visit, and very good value for money.

Edwins at Englefield. wonderful food dining experience only marred by the worst coffee we have ever been served. Second offering just as bad but we were not charged for it as a good will gesture

An old village pub conversion, Edwinns is stylish and well presented. Our welcome was warm and the service friendly. The menu was limited - a good sign, I thought as excellence is more likely when focussed - as was the wine list which also lacked vintages - a less good sign, I thought.. (both were also printed on 'wipe clean' card). The food was pass but not remark, the wine drink but not memor - able and the friendly service slow and even chaotic at times. I don't think I'll be going back

Our visit to Edwinns on Valentines evening, far exceeded our expectatons. The service was outstanding, the staff were both prompt and polite. We had a perfect evening and we plan to return in the summer.

My party of 4 had Sunday lunch at Edwinns, Englefield Green - 2 roast beef/2 salmon served with all trimmings and vegetables which are included in the price. The meals were excellent and attractively presented. We all had starters and deserts which were very tasty. There was a short but good wine list. Service was friendly and unhurried even though we had a late lunch. We often go to this restaurant but it was the first time we booked through Top Table - worked perfectly.
