Reviews of Eat Fish Restaurant

I drove past Eat Fish in Berkamstead before going in, as I always do. It was fairly deserted, with just a couple eating by the window at the front. Hmmm I thought, not a good sign, but then again it was a rainy tuesday evening and several international banks had just crashed, so perhaps the mood wasnt right for eating out. However, since it was the lovely Trina's birthday, nothing would stop me, so in we went. We were greeted by a very personable young man, who enjoyed my quip about the fish ...

Had a great dinner at Eat Fish last night. I highly recommend the scallops & the squid as either starters or main courses. Good selection of fish on the menu

The food at Eat Fish was fresh and delicious- a wide range of dishes made the choice difficult. A jug of tap water was happily supplied and refilled. The only slight disappointment was that no fresh mint tea was available. I'd definitely return.

We had the Top Table deal on this, and the food was ok but not particularly special. The wife had roast pork which was overdone and very dry. I had fish & chips which was nice, albeit that the fish was too oily.

This was our 3rd visit to Eat Fish. The quality of the food, as before, is generally good, but the portions still remain a bit on the small side. That was okay for a light lunch though! The offer menu had changed since the last time we had been which was nice too.

As soon as we stepped into the restaurant the smell coming from the kitchens was delicious and we were warmly greeted by one of the waiters who then showed us to our table. We chose from the 2 course lunch menu and I had the smoked salmon pate on lightly fried granary bread that melted in the mouth. It was divine! The main course we both had the fish of the day with greens which was pollock and it had a lovely buttery taste. The chips with skins were full of flavour and crispy.
