East is East is our local Indian, just accross the road. But that is not the reason we frequently visit there. There's enough choice in the area, but East is East has great food. Their vegetarian starter platter, the Tikka Masala and the Roomali Roti are amongst our favourites. Add to that service with a smile (and a joke), great music (especially today) and staff who almost dance across the floor... We will be back soon! We just hope that one day soon they will have a good coffee machine too :)

Meal for six at East is East on a Friday night. Service, whilst friendly, a little bit sporadic; we had almost finished our main courses by the time my boyfriend got his. Food as always very tasty, particularly recommend the veggie mixed starters and kadai fish. As always cheap and cheerful in pleasant surroundings.

We all found that the experience was very good. The cost of the bill was also very affordable. Will suggest for anyone.

a really nice indian resturant in what is quite a run down area lots of young trendy indians eat there, always a good sign. Good service , better food

Whilst the food was to a good standard - recmd gosht saag, dal makhani (with the exception of one dish), the service was appalling. We sat with empty glasses, although there were two guys attending to non-existent guests at the bar area. After asking for a drink and asking where the food was, we had our meals plonked on the table. Plates were taken whilst we were eating starters and mains. Dissapointed by the tandoori prawn. 4 prawns for 11 quid - in the backside of east london!

East is East is a really nice lunch time indian restaurant (that is if your stomach can handle curry for lunch). I have eaten here in for dinner and for their lunch time buffet and i must say the buffet is a must for a visit. Good food, nice price and nice people.

First time at East is East. Friendly service, good prices, breads were delicious! Sag paneer was runny so a bit disappointing.
