Dexters offered very good food that was clearly freshly prepared. The waitress was excellent and we tipped directly because the staff don't get the full per centage if you accept the service charge on the bill. Great unusual puddings. Just a bit noisy, lots of chatter and loud music.

As I am not that adventurous with food, I looked at the menu and I knew I'd have to ask for all the sauces etc to be left off my plate. My friends and I were not that impressed with the menu (it's what we would call pretentious!), as there are few traditional dishes on there that everyone would enjoy. However, we did have a lovely, generous-sized meal and the service was great.

Dexters service was friendly and food adequate for a US grill based eatery but the place was empty during a lunch time just before Xmas and at the table we had the overhead light was on such a long lead we had to bend down to talk to each other across the table (and I'm 170cm tall) which made it uncomfortable and feel quite claustrophibic even though the rest of the place was empty
