Reviews of DCH

We were in short dissapointed with the whole evening at DCH. The table was sited with wonderful views of the minster and laid out exquisitely. In our party of 8, 3 had the goats cheese starter (£8) and 3 left the starter as bland and lacking in texture, main course was served rib eye with an au poivre sauce which were an improvement. The meal came to £300 inc 3 bottles of wine (no desert or coffee). However they did deduct the 3 starters after complaining to both the chef and manager.

DCH This was my second visit in 3 weeks and the food was fantastic again, only slight downside it was the same Autumn menu. Recommended

Overall the food was good although I did feel it was slightly overpriced. The portions are on the small side

DCH had great service which made us feel extremely welcome and comfortable, great views of the Minster, lovely wine and great food. I recommend it.

Had lamb for main course. My girlfriend had steak. Both very very nice. Simple meals, yet a lovely taste. Topped it off with some lovely desserts (creme brulee and chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream). Even the calypso coffees were very tasty. This is definitely food above average. Service very good and toilets very nice and clean. Would definitely recommend the DCH restaurant.

The DCH was lovely. Food & service was great. Only negative thing was they did not have the Organic wine we wanted to order, but we were not told this until after the order was taken and they went to get it.

DCH Restaurant in York was all we'd hoped it would be. The quiet ambiance and the impeccable service added to our enjoyment of an elegant and stylish dinner. We were fortunate to be given the table we'd requested: at the window, overlooking York Minster and from the moment we arrived we were impressed by the decor, table settings and unobtrusive service. Our meal was truly excellent, with the pollock in pancetta on a seafood risotto proving to be outstanding! A wonderful evening all round.

I went here with my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday and i cannot think of anywhere nicer. We requested beforehand a table with a view and were not disappointed with a table facing York Minster. We chose to have the Sunday roast from the Carvery which was not only generous in portions but tasted delicious. The restaurant was not at all 'stuffy' but had a warm and welcoming atmosphere would most certainly reccommend.

DCH in York provided very attentive service with excellant food well presented. There was a limited memnu it being a Saturday lunch but the menu did offer good choices and the kitchen dealt with one of my guests allergy with no problem at all.I would revisit DCH next time my travels take me to York.

I wanted to enjoy a high quality meal at a good price and following the reviews I have seen for DCH in York I was very pleased to see they were correct. The food is wonderful, although I felt all the dishes required vegetable sides as they were so rich. The venison was fantastically cooked and the wine list extremely well thought out and complimentary with the menu. The service was excellent although the background music terrible. I would still recommend it to anyone just for the view alone.
