Reviews of Dans Le Noir?

Dans le Noir? is an amazing experience - the whole thing is seemlessly run, the staff are extremely helpful and the food is great. Definately worth while - you will never have eaten a meal in a venue like this!

We went for the experience - and that is what we got! We knew it would be dark, but were still surprised that we could see absolutely nothing. You all sit at a long table with other diners all around you, so your experience will depend on their behaviour (someone sneaked in a phone which lit up and broke the atmosphere). Food was fine - not dire like some reports - it was weird not knowing what you were eating. Not sure I could taste everything on the menu (given after the meal). Bit loud.

This was my first visit to Dans le Noir, and while the food was good it was not spectacular. The best selling point about the place is the experience of dining in absolute darkness, which was really interesting and fun. It sounds almost like a cheap trick, but the service was really good and I would come back with others so they can experience the fun.

I took my sister to Dans Le Noir %u213 it was an interesting experience even though the food was very average (and I am fairly sure it wasn%u219t because I was in the dark). This isn%u219t the point of course, the point is to sit in pitch black and try to adjust to it and use other senses to make sense of it all. U also tend to talk to ur neighbours and generally loose a lot of inhibitions. Verdict: worth a try but I am unlikely to do it again. Quite pricey also!

We found the food very tasty, given the choice to eat with fingers, we indulged in this for the starter before taking up forks for the main meal. Other senses were heightened although to experience this to a better degree we would have preferred to be on a table just for two or with people that we know. Noise levels were too high. Less people would have been perfect. A lovely surprise for my boyfriend and a giggle throughout!

How do you rate the ambience at Dans le Noir? I don't think that you can! What a truly surreal experience where no amount of forewarning can prepare you for the intensity of losing your sense of sight - even if only for a short time. The staff & waiters are all amazing but as per every other review I have to agree that the food leaves a little to be desired, shame as taste is one of the heightened senses. But a very worthwhile venture, even if only to realise the gift we all have!

This place is amazing! What a sensory overload! Food was ok, however, they forgot my boyfriends birthday cake which i was really upset about. Def recommend for the expereince. Very rowdy!

Dans le Noir has a unique concept - serving your meal in complete darkness. It is an interesting and fun experience, letting you focus on the taste of the food. Unfortunately the taste of the food was quite bland and gave the impression of simple ingredients (although it turned out to be slightly more sophisticated when the secret menu was revealed). For the quality of food, the place was way too expensive.

As nearly everyone on here agrees, The food could be better, but it's not great food that you go here for. Although to be fair. The food was OK, just I would have expected better for £35 per head for a 3 course dinner. Having said that, I would definetly go again, and I am recommending it to all my friends, and people I have only just met too!

Dinner at Dans le noir was both an interesting and a worthwhile experience. The food is nothing special, good starter, reasonable main and disappointing dessert. Our order also got muddled up and we were served prawn although one of members of our group was allergic! Apart from that the service was good under the conditions. If you are after an out of the ordinary dinner experience give this a try, but if you are picky about your food then let this one by.
