Reviews of Da Paolo Restaurant

It was my first visit to Da Paolo and I was very impressed. The service was attentive and efficient and the food delicious. However what amazed me most was that the restaurant had noted my comments about being wheat and diary intolerant and offered to make me wheat free pasta with any sauce I desired. I have eaten at many different places over many years and this is first time this has happened! As a consequence I definitely will be returning and recommending Da Paolo to all my friends.

Da Paolo. Excellent family style Italian restaurant with traditional cooking and very generous portions.

Good food and service. The only downside is that the tables are very small and crammed in tightly.

The waiters were friendly and not overpowering, allowing us time to enjoy our evening and not get rushed along. The ambience was very relaxing and the food, expecially the scallops started was really good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I still can't get over how Da Paolo can produce such an amazing bruschetta starter which is big enough for 2 people to share and comes with salad on the plate for just £3.95 (ie 2 quid each!) Amazing! The pasta mains are on the huge side but all taste great - don't be shy about asking to take leftovers home since they already do a takeaway service. Have been twice now and going again next week! Yum!

Da Paulo is a favourite restaurant of mine: a real hidden gem with lovely outdoor seating. Inside is cosy with a real buzz (mainly from sitting elbow to elbow with fellow diners!). Service very attentive and the lasagne we had was extremely tasty.

Went there on a busy Saturday night. Once order was taken we didn't wait long for food to arrive. All dishes were of high quality and a nice bottle of red to wash it down. Nice place too, good feel and we could even sit outside as the weather was nice. Recommended.

After reading rave reviews on here, I decided to book Da Paolo for dinner after a day out with my friend. The restaurant itself is located in a nice area, howver there are 2 busy pubs close by and on a hot evening the noise from them was a bit distracting (but this isn't anything the restaurant can change). The service was ok but we found it difficult to make ourselves understood and our waitress was called off to do something else while still serving us. The food was good and reasonably priced.

a great little italian the service anf food are great, its a little small abnd cosy in there but that adds to the atmosphere, it feels traditional and unlike so mnay of the clinical and production line chain italians, my favourite italian.

went to Da Paolo for wedding anniversary meal. It was ok. Tables close together but as fairly quiet felt intimate and cosy. Service friendly and quick. Large portions. Nice home cooked italian food, bit pricey.

Da Paulo was a real dissapointment. The mussels did not tase very fresh and the lobster had been completely overcooked. Other meals did look better but portions were huge which was slightly intimidating. Nice atmosphere but wouldn't go back.

Went there with a party of 4 for New Years dinner. The arrival went smoothly and we where given our table. order 3 courses with 2 bottles of house wine, decent selection. The starter where delicious the main was also nicely prepared and tasted superb. The desert likewise. A minus for only 2 toilets, but not really a problem. Da Paulo are perfect for romatic dinner, business or celebration. Recomended!

Very good service, food and overall ambience - however, tables were far too closely placed together and I think that charging 12.5% service is enough but to also add a cover charge is a bit much!
