Very atmospheric, Nice food (if small portions - will buy several to share next time) and fair prices

Loved this restaurant-had a private room and it was like being in someones dining room-very good service, lovely food and a great atmosphere

Bam bou is a nice little restaurant. The food was very good, as always. The service was a little rusty - waitress had to bring someone else to tell us what was in a curry, and then went on to top up our still water with sparkling. Still, they are a friendly bunch, and whilst not buzzing on a weekday lunch, was a thoroughly pleasant venue for a business lunch.

My friends and I enjoyed very good food and service and at £40 each for three courses and two bottles of wine, also thought it value for money. We thought it quite noisy and felt some soft furnishings in a wooden floored dining room may have absorbed some of the noise. The toilets were up several flights of stairs which would prove a challenge to elderly and disabled customers.

Eating in Bambou is like eating in a Victorian parlour room - only the tea and cakes and have been replaced by sexy Eastern dishes, luscious cocktails and oriental oil paintings and in our case, the Men 2009 calender. The dishes are substantial, great for sharing and there are some good choices for veggies too. Deserts aren't bad either - lime and kiwi cheescake with hokey pokey ice-cream, anyone? In a nutshell, cosy, good value and lots of fun.

We had a lovely meal at Bam Bou. The menu is varied and exciting, the food was absolutely beautiful (I recommend the sweet pork and scallops) and the setting was very cosy. Service was attentive all evening, although not intrusive. It wasn't the cheapest night out but I feel it was worth the extra if you have a special occassion.

Bam-Bou is a great choice for a special meal. The food is pretty spectacular and explains why you need to book about 6 weeks early for a Saturday night!

Yet another excellent meal at Bam Bou. All 4 of us are vegetarian & the choice for us were limited but what we ordered was well done. We had the avocado roll which was full of fresh herbs & tasty. The Saigon crepe was mediocre. The hotpot was full of tofu, aubergine & was out of this world. Unlike previous visits my hotpot was not full of spring onions on this occasion. The vegetable curry was extremely tasty full of subtle herbs & coconut. The service was adequate but not friendly or helpful.

Always a favourate, good food and wine with a great bar! One criticism would be with a group of 12 I thought they would have made nore of an effort.

Bam Bou is always an easy night to arrange. Great cocktails to start in the Red Bar then fab food for everyone to share. Always good for a crowd or a date.

Having never been, I had no expectations but the restaurant seemed quite cramped, narrow and covered 2-3 floors as it's based in an old town house. Food is good but portions very small and as I had no starters or dessert, I was still hungry afterwards. Staff were very attentive and our waiter charming. Was surprised about the ladies, there was only 1 toiIet and a queue snaking out the door. I would go back again but not in a hurry.

I have been to this restuarant before but quite some time ago. So I went again today and the food was as outstanding as I had remembered but the service was poor and the waiters and waitresses seemed to have some attitude! Go for some fantastic food and lets hope the service improves. It is a very noisey restuarant at lunch.

Bam Bou is housed in a beautiful building - really created a lovely atmosphere. Disappointed with the two veggie starters - including spring rolls. Not much to them and certainly nothing special. Main courses very good - lemongrass sea bass was wonderful. Staff friendly and attentive. Pleasant place to eat - a little on the expensive side for the quality of food.
