Reviews of Balls Brothers - Lime Street

The Balls Brothers Lime Street venue is reliably good, although possibly not the best in the chain. The food was good, although the service a little slow. Well recommended though for a peaceful City lunch.

We had booked Balls Bros Lime Street for a business lunch. There seemed to be some confusion over the reservation - it appears that the booking was in the wrong name. Apart from that, it was a good venue for our purpose.

Balls Brothers Lime Street. There was confusion over our table when we arrived but that was quicky sorted out. Excellent service, food and ambience. One of my favourite bars in the City!

The food at Balls Brothers, Lime Street is good and the service very good but, even by City prices, a bit pricey for what you get. Starters average over £8 and the steak was £25 plus vegetables.

very good / unpretentious city venue for the day-to-day business lunch. As always for a Balls Brothers, very good selection of good but expensive French wines.

Once again Balls Brothers Lime street performed to its potential. Given the speed with which a great many of the clientelle are trying to get through the lunch, i have always found the service up to the task and congenial. I will, of course, return.

Balls Brothers Lime Steet continues to provide just what the doctor ordered. I imagine that it is highly unlikely that this successful chain will change its format, because it works. What is particularly nice about the Lime Street venue is the service is always first class. Steak and Kidney pudding is the real McCoy!

This is the third time i have eaten here in a short time. The standard of food can vary, however, the service remains first class. Still a winner.

Although Balls Brothers has a standard format, especially for the 'standing snacks' style of food and drink, the restaurant in Lime Street is excellent. Most of the clientelle have walked about 10 paces from Lloyd's across the road but the service and quality of food is certainly worth the money and the atmosphere lively but sufficiently discreet and business like. A place I will return to regularly.

Balls Brothers' restaurant on Lime Street is furnished and decorated like a gentlemen's club and we enjoyed having the large dining room to ourselves mid-week - so my low mark for ambience was simply because some people like to watch others and there weren't any! The bar next door was busy. Our waitress was probably new and, whilst she was attentive, she did not know much. Fish was over-seasoned to our taste - we don't cook with salt at all.
