Baccus Pub and Kitchen. We'd booked for 7.30pm on Sat evening and when we arrived we were the first! By 8pm the bar area was buzzing and busy. The selection of meals was limited and my son didn't find a starter that he fancied but he chose the steak for main course and said it was the best beef he's tasted in ages. The chocolate brownie was absolutely delicious too, as was the apple crumble and custard. We did find the music good but a little too loud, especially once the bar filled up.

It was an enjoyable evening and there was a good atmosphere. The service was unhurried and the food was very good. I certainly would return again.

Bachus is a good place for Sunday lunch - quiet enough to talk but not so quiet as to be soporific. The food was very tasty, particularly the chocolate pudding and the cabbage / apple that came with the roast pork. Service was a little confused but attentive and friendly. Would definitely go again.

We went to Bacchus Pub & Kitchen on a Saturday night. I had been once before when it was still just Bacchus, and was not quite as impressed on this visit (although the bill was a lot less this time!). A few at my table were not overly impressed by their starters, my crab on toast was a little overpowered by its dressing (but my nibble of my friend's rabbit terrine was delicious). But I was impressed by the perfectly cooked mains, my venison and my friend's steak were both melt-in-the-mouth.

Very enjoyable meal at Bacchus. Pretty quiet for a Friday night, however still a nice, relaxed atmosphere, presume it will get busier as people hear it has reopened. Food was very good - I had venison for main, which was good quality although could have been slightly more cooked (although I like meat rare, this was perhaps a bit much). Served with potatoes which were superb. Service was unconventional but very charming. Overall a very good meal, came to £60 including a decent bottle of red.

Bacchus is the sort of grastro pub that all neighbourhoods should have. Lovely ambiance and really good food. Topped off by the bubbly service from Hanna. Great Rissoto and Venison dishes - just wish we had had room for the desserts too.

Went for sunday lunch at Bacchus and was quite impressed. The menu wasn't huge but something for everyone. We all went for the rib of beef. Huge portions but the food came warm rather than hot. Other than that- a laid back pub with attentive friendly service. A great sunday afternoon venue!

Bacchus was brilliant as always. It will be sorely missed.

Bacchus was a fairly easy stroll from Hoxton Square in a surprising location for a fine dining restaurant, possibly why it is closing on the 8th August. The restaurant itself was smart shabby chic, staff and service were friendly and relaxed. We had the full tasting menu which under chef Nuno Mendes was highly acomplished but lacked the wow factor however the wines from the pairing were inspired. Will certainly try Nuno's new venture when open

We were first timers at Bacchus and were pleasantly surprised - The food was excellent - The ambience just right and the service impeccable with just the right touch of informality thrown in - The wife and I had a terrific time experimenting the dishes and wine on the tasting menu - Add this to your list of special places for that special occasion :).

a superb evening out, enjoyable laid-back environment in the spacious hull of an old pub. the food was borderline ridiculous but never displeasing. eating with 5 friends i think we each had a different favourite course. the taste combinations were interesting and enjoyable rather than overly challenging or grating. probably one of the finest meals i've ever had. great staff and attention to detail - as you'd expect. whole-heartedly recommend

Bacchus was interesting. The service was amazing, the experience different, and the atmosphere pleasant. Personally, I thought it was quite romantic looking outside to the dreary and dismal street outside whilst in such a lovely intimate restaurant. I have to admit though, the food didnt quite do it for me - great flavours but not so keen on the textures.

The 5 course tasting menu with a glass of champers at Bacchus was great value. Really interesting flavours beautifully presented. I understand the restaurant is aiming to move to Mayfair, it would be a real shame for the East End to lose this gem of a restaurant.

An excellent restaurant, eating here was a fantastic culinary experiance. The toptable offer is well worth the £35, though I think the £45 is still by no means unreasonable for this quality.

Bacchus Went on Sat nigt with my wife . We had the 7 course menu with wine. By and large the food was very good . However , as both my wife and I had the same food the sea bass on the 1st course was completely different for both of us . Mine perfect , hers completely raw. We mentioned this , not as a complaint but as an observation. and we were made to feel a little persecuted for making any comment . At least 3 waiters refered to my wife as "the one who didn't like the fisrt course"!
