Al Sultan was a non crowed restaurant with good food and value for money

We were looking for a reasonably priced, well rated restaurant near my parents' hotel in Mayfair, and Al Sultan seemed to fit the bill. We weren't let down. The menu offered a wealth of delicious starters - I wish we had ordered more. Main courses offered less choice (but fine if you're a lamb fan) and were richly flavoured. We somehow managed to stuff down some very moreish baklava at the end of the meal, along with fragrant tea. Staff were very courteous and made the evening highly enjoyable.

We had the the Al Sultan restaurant almost all to ourselves for a Sunday lunch. The atmosphere was pleasantly relaxed, and the food quite nice - lots of fresh vegetables and decent meze for starters, and very tender lamb (in various shapes, forms, and sauces) for the main course. The service was impeccable, and the total (without wine) came to about £125 for four people, which is pretty good for Mayfair! All in all, a good meal stretched over three hours!

Had a good meal at Al sultan, is slightly off the main area of Shepards market. Good quality food and good ambience. The mixed starters were exellent.

We opted for a mezzes-only dinner and were very happy with our choice. The quality and the presentation of the dishes is fabolous. Service was attentive but not very friendly and carefully. Main critcs: Our red "Château Musar" at GBP 40 was less than mediocre.

Food: Good, but nothing great. Starters were nice and main lamb was cooked well but served with chips (?!?) Service: APPAULLING! The waiter was very moody. He asked us if we wanted to order main course as we were eating our starters. During service, he practically through the cutlery on the table, and took food away without even asking if we had finished (which we hadn't). Would not return or recommend. Many better Lebanese restaurants available for food, ambience and service.

Al Sultan is in a great location. Good food (apart from the slightly greasy chicken wings) and it had a bustly but chilled atmosphere. Worth a visit!
