Reviews of A Touch of Novelli - The White Horse

we enjoyed our saturday lunch at the white horse.we felt however that the food was on the expensive side and was disappointed not to be offered the set menu which is advertised on top table and the restaurant brochure.however we were pleased to note that the wine list was very reasonably priced by the bottle and we enjoyed a good bottle of argentinian white.would recommend this restaurant.

Novelli's White Horse sits in a nice setting in Herts. The food is of a god Gastropub standard, but nothing new. I felt that £3 for bread (albeit served in a flower pot) might have been a bit steep but wished that we'd plumped for it when our starters came without anything to spread them on (game terrine/crab). The service was very good and our waitress made sure that we were happy at all times. Overall good London standard food (at London prices) in a countryside setting.

At the White Horse, my friend raved immoderately about his steak. My salmon was pretty good, too.

We dined at A Touch of Novelli at The White Horse in Harpended and it was quite a let down. They used to have to most delicious seared scallops beautifully presented, these have been downgraded and downsized - scallops served on a bed of peas?! The steak was rather dry and tasteless - I'm afraid I won't be hurrying back to The White Horse.

We went with a party of 6 to A Touch of Novelli - the White Horse. The restaurant was difficult to find as they had not given the road name , just the area, which was not sign posted. A lot of attention was paid to the presentation of the food which looked beautiful, but the taste did not always match. Portions, particularly of veg were very meagre. Service was prefunctory. The bread and butter were very good. We would not recommend.

We went to A Touch of Novelli at the White Horse in Harpenden for Sunday Lunch - we had a lovely meal, and there were some lovely touches to the meal. The bread came in a terracotta pot that it had just been baked in - so fresh that it was almost too hot to touch! I had the roast rack of lamb, which came with all the trimmings, it was a generous portion, and very well cooked. The desserts were all beautifully presented and imaginative.

I really enjoyed my experience at the White Horse, the setting is lovely and the service excellent. The food was good but not excellent, in particular the pork was slightly overdone. Overall a very pleasant evening though.

Novelli Restaurant Harpenden. Overall okay but think it has gone downhill a bit since it first opened. Our friend who is a veggie only had 1 meal choice as all of the fish dishes but 1 had meat with it or cooked in things like chorizo sauce so she was disappointed.

A Touch of Novelli - The White Horse in Harpenden. I went with family for my 40th birthday. The service and food were excellent. The waiter even gave my son a taster test of icecream to see if he would like it.nothing was too much trouble.

A Touch of Novelli - good food, good service however quantity rather than quality left a bit to be desired
