We went to 5th View Bar at Waterstones mainly for the view and we were not dissapointed. What a view!! One of the few venues with views in London. Food was ok, good open sandwiches. And nice service and lively atmosphere. Avoid if you can the toilets. Awful! Stinking and dirty.

My 2nd time at 5th View, and I wasn't so impressed - yes, the view is great, the cocktails are marvellous, but the lunchtime menu seems to have shrunk in size and range since April, and the service was sloppy/bored/apathetic.... The Italian platter we shared was yummy but overpriced at more than a tenner........... I'll go back, but next time I'll stick to the margaritas and martinees!

The 5th View bar at the top of Waterstones is a fantastic place to meet friends. Buzzy, vibrant atmosphere, good drinks list and tasty tapas contributed to a great evening.

5th View Bar is a lovely bright restaurant, great place for lunch. Only downfall is the service is quite slow.

5th view bar and food at Waterstones has a lovely atmosphere, an imaginative and tasty menu and a wonderful view. Lunch was excellent. The only problem was the very slow, at times non-existent, service.

The 5th View Bar is a lovely spot to have a light but tasty lunch. The service is not good though and this is the 6th visit, as there never seems to be enough staff. We waited 20 minutes for a menu on our reserved table. This could be excellent with more staff.

5th View is a nice place to meet for lunch or a drink as it has a really nice view of London and can be quite romantic in the evening. As for the food, it is nice but a bit overpriced. Still, worth going there at least once.

Fifth View at Waterstone's is a great hidden gem. The view is great and the food is just right for lunch: light, interesting and relatively healthy. The only downside is that the waiters have perfected the art of ignoring you and you have to be pretty persistent to catch their eye. Oh, and you can end up spending a lot of money on books on the way downstairs afterwards - especially after a glass of wine or two...

The 5th View Bar @ Waterstones was an excellent place for lunch. The food was of excellent quality, particularly the poached salmon/rocket on ciabatta...and view over the London rooftops was very pleasant. The cocktails were also of excellent quality, although a little heavy on the amount of ice. The decor is very much at a cafe level, but overall we would go there again because of the quality of the food and service.

Came to the 5th View for a first date - the informal atmosphere, good drinks and good nibbles made it a great venue. Reasonably priced. Absolutely disgusting toilet though!

Service was a little slow to start with but improved as the lunch moved on, the views are good and there is a peaceful quality in the atmosphere that must overflow from the bookshop. Had a very fresh salmon salad that was a good size portion and averagely priced. I would go again for a light lunch.

Another good choice at the 5th Cafe in Waterstones on Piccadilly. An all female business meeting, bit noisy but different, relaxed and lovely easy food and wine. Been many times now .........must try somethwhere else!

The Fifth Floor at Waterstones lacked a bit of ooomph. While the 'Coalshed' soup (it was actually courgette and red pepper) - but this was how the waitress had pronounced it, was absolutely delicious and was eaten with great chunks of fresh bread and huge nods of approval - the Meze was to say the least bland and uninviting - due to a serious lack of seasoning. I left thinking ithat the Fifth Floor was a good place to have coffee - but to eat?

5th view bar at the top of waterstones bookshop was a rather mixed experience; was standing around for ages waiting to be seated feeling like a right lemon. The service was without a smile but was pretty speedy. Cocktails great and food a nice selection.

Another excellent meal / event at the 5th View Bar booked through TopTable. A great start to a night out with easy small delicious portions and cocktails. Excellent atmosphere and if you know how bad the toilets are you wont be disappointed and will wait!

I went here for lunch and was very glad that I booked. Most of the larger tables were taken by people on 'working lunches' but this didn't make my girlfriend or I feel out of place. With a table by the window, we were bathed in natural light which was a delight. The service was as expected for a busy lunchtime, and at no point were they too egar to get us through our food. The food was excellent, and came out quickly but clearly hadn't been rushed. A perfect place for a lunch date

The 5th View Bar is handy for a meal after a visit to the RSA. My companion's vegetarian mezze looked nice. My salmon salad was OK but could have done with some dressing. Ladies toilet on 5th floor was out of service.

5th View Bar's food was great, portions were large, service was slow - but friendly. Cocktails were delicious!

5th view - I must admit, I have become a regular here....but it is easy to see why, what with the excellent, friendly service and inventive drinks!
