We who live in the area of Holloway Road , where there are few enough good places to eat, are knocked out by this restaurant. Indeed it is often hard to get into at night, it has become so popular, so today I went at lunchtime for a business meeteing lunch. As always food delcious, service personal and wonderfully efficient and at this time of day quiet enough to hear oneself talk. It was very cold outside so they made sure we had an extra radiatorr close to us. Highly recommended.

Some welcome new additions to the menu, the venison with wild mushrooms and polenta was gorgeous and just right for Autumn. It can be a bit noisy when the restaurant is full, with no soft furnishings to absorb the sound, but the food and service are beyond reproach

What a little gem on the Holloway Road, 500 Restaurant came highly recommended and ticked all the right boxes. The food is delicious and not a bolognaise in sight. Belissimo !

500 restaurant is a good non-chain italian. Well presented food. Intersting daily specials, especially the mixed selection starter. Reasonable but pricey wine list, mainly italian. Small restaurant, attentive staff and full on a Tuesday evening, non-bookers were being turned away. Will go again.

500 Restuarant is a great find. Fab food. Authentic italian feel. Only downside was it felt a little crowded. Would also be good to have somewhere to hang your coat up!

500 Restaurant - Good Italian food at affordable prices (don't bother going up Highgate Hill, it costs double and it's not as good!). It's even getting hard to get a table at 500, such is it's new popularity!

Truly lovely, a relaxed lunch with quick and unfussy service, and very good food. I had the gnocchi with fennel sausage and my partner the seafood pasta. The starters were very decent portions and very tasty. This food was authenctic, full of flavour and of an excellent standard. Value for money is certainly available here, though that makes it sound as if the food were merely ok. It was very reasonably priced (£35 for 2 courses each and 2 beers and fizzy water) and brilliant. Will return.

Third time at 500 Restaurant. Seafood stew is highly recommended, such as risotto sorrell. Service is friendly and attentive, food is fresh and delicious as always.

500 Restaurant is the real deal. A sound menu with several specials of the day all of which sounded delicious. A taster plate of small nibbles, including excellent salami was perfect, as was my risotto ai fungi - as good as any I have had in Italy. A very comprehensive wine list and extremely inexpensive. Delightful service. Hard to find fault with this gem and we will return on a regular basis. Fab fab fab!! CH

Great little place, wouldnt really have noticed it if I hadn't been told about it as it looks like a fairly average place. Once in, the waiters were very attentive, friendly and polite. Food came quickly - I had the Snapper with Pasta which was very nice, although pasta was a bit too 'el dente' for me.

We went to 500 with a group of people for a Birthday on Saturday night. The restaurant was fully booked but the service didn't suffer. Staff were helpful, polite and nothing was a problem. The food was consistently fantastic. Everyone was still talking about the food hours later. The price was reasonable too, more than reasonable for the quality of the food.

My son lives near 500 and recommended it as a very special find and he was right. The food was fresh and extremely well cooked and presented. The staff are smiling helpful and freindly, what more could you want?. Actually we had to shout a bit to hear eachother.

Great restaurant. Value for money is very very good. We both had startes (pea soup is very tasy). mains, desert, coffees and a digestive each plus a decent bottle of wine and the whole bill came to £60! Gnocci with italian sausage is wonderful, so was rhe rabbit, very tender,slowly cooke meat. The only thing I could say is that portions were massive, my pea soup was more of main. Also the waitress didnt really speak good english and couldnt explain what a sorrel was. I would absolutely go back!!

A quaint little get-away from the often dreary Archway. Fresh ingredients and simple recipes, the perfect Italian meal. Amazingly friendly staff who know the ins and outs of the menu, as well as a relaxed atmosphere that leaves you feeling comfortable to stay as long as you want. Highly recommended!

I was slightly suprised by 500; having read the reviews maybe I expected too much. 500 is nothing more than a decent local (family run style) Italian restaurant. The service was fairly good, but the menu is very limitted and the food maybe just above average at best. It was inexpenisve and if you live locally maybe somewhere to eat on the odd occasion; but I definately wouldn't go for a special occasion or travel any distance for a meal

Our fourth visit to 500, but the first time we had seen it with more than 6 people - in fact it was full, and we were delighted. But the lack of soft furnishings affects the accoustics, and we often couldn't hear each other - something we had not noticed before. The food remains consistently excellent, though - really worth a visit.

500 Restaurant is a fantastic find. One of the nicest Italian meals I've had in London so far. Everything was so fresh and homemade. The value is extremely good as well! My pasta dish was superb and the tiramisu devine (extremely fresh, homemade and exactly how my mum makes it)! :) I would definitely recommend 500 Restaurant and will be returning.
