Love the Waldorf. My only complaint is the costly in-room wireless. Meals are expensive, but I expected this. Rooms are spacious and staff is wonderful. The highlight is the Sunday brunch. My favourite New York hotel!

Pros: Beautiful rooms; excellent staff; spotless,
Cons: Expensive wireless.

When I arrived to my room, the air conditioner was making s loud noise. Maintenance came up to fix it while I stepped out to dinner. When I returned at around 10pm, I went to take a shower and the shower handle was broken. I had to manually turn the nozzle (like you do with a wrench) to get the water on. When I called the front desk, they told me that no other rooms were available, which was odd considering that when I checked in two hours earlier, they tried to sell me an upgraded room for $100/night. Went to breakfast the next morning, the food is disgusting. Not sure why you would eat there when there are so many GREAT restaurants in NYC! They finally swapped me into another room the next day, which was "upgraded". The tub looked like it literally had not been updated since the 1960's. Would never stay here again. Why on earth would anyone when there are SO many amazing hotels in NYC for comparable prices.

Pros: The location.
Cons: The rooms were disgusting. I completely understand that most people stay here because of the name. However, the rooms were no where near deserving of a 5 star rating. I've stayed at 4 star hotels in NYC that are far better.

It is a beautiful hotel, but the rooms we were in were NOT 5star.

Pros: The public spaces were very nice, the concierge was extremely helpful.
Cons: The rooms were small and the sound of the closing doors was extremely loud. Parking cost $75 a night.

Pros: It was beautiful and close to everything we wanted to do. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.
Cons: We would have liked a coffee maker in our room. And the bathroom door didn't really shut well or lock. But we didn't really mind too much about the door, it was just us old married couple :) But coffee would have been really wonderful!

Disappointing | 2 out of 5

We thought that, because of the name, we would have a great experience. It was not. We should have stayed at a 'normal' hotel and made sure that breakfast was included. The room was also a disappointment-pictures made the rooms look bigger and it was barely large enough for 2 double beds and walking room. The bathroom was only slightly bigger than what you find on a cruise ship. There was dust everywhere and it looked like the carpet had not been vacuumed in weeks - certainly not in between the last customer's stay and our stay.

Pros: The name
Cons: The room was not clean; amenities we thought were included (breakfast, fitness room, WiFi) were not included. Most upsetting was that breakfast was not included.

Pros: The staff was lovely and helpful, from the front deskstaff to the bellmen getting you a cab, the room charming and large and the public spaces beautiful, its the Waldorf with all its cache and elegance
Cons: The bathrooms are small since the hotel was built when bathrooms were small, also few electrical outlets in rooms, but thats a small price to pay for such a lovely stay in mid-town Manhattan
