Love the Waldorf. My only complaint is the costly in-room wireless. Meals are expensive, but I expected this. Rooms are spacious and staff is wonderful. The highlight is the Sunday brunch. My favourite New York hotel!

My husband and I were thrilled when the confirmation for the Waldorf Astoria New York came up on ! Unfortunately, we were very taken aback and more than disappointed with our hotel room. We understand the hotel is old, but there is a big difference between old and just plain gross! The condition of our room was disgusting.mold on the walls, rust in the bathroom and on the air conditioning unit, stains on the carpets, broken furniture and so on I took photos of the room and went to the front desk to explain our unhappiness. We were told there was nothing they could do that night, but they would move us the following day to a renovated room. They moved us to a larger room. Never once did we mention the size of the room as being an issue as the size was completely adequate (especially for New York standards). The condition of the renovated room was slightly better than our original room but it still had rust in the bathroom and wallpaper pulling away from the walls. We dont have any overwhelming complaints on the public spaces the lobby was grand and had nice old world charm and the bar was intimate with nice ambiance. Over the past few years, we have stayed at a few Waldorf properties in different areas of the country and have loved all of them! We were so excited to be staying at the original Flagship property in New Yorkbut we were very much disenchanted and shocked at the rooms. This property is not at all worthy of the 4 -5 star rating it boasts.and should reevaluate their rating of the hotel as well!

Well located, grand feel, nice halls but renovations needed in reasonably priced rooms. Dissappointed.
