Sands is an ideal location...

Liked: Sands is well-kept and gives a typical coastal side vibe. Staying here also means access to beautiful cliff side views you can climb down and or enjoy from a bench. Sands is also located in between downtown Cambria and the elephant seals tourist spot.

Great budget option for visiting...

Liked: Access to the beachfront walkways, fire pits, gathering areas of the Cavalier Resort next door (its sister property). Enjoyed sitting watching the waves after dinner. Good budget option for visiting Hearst Castle-10 minute drive & San Simeon. Clean accommodation-comfy bed and hot shower. Loved having the Cavalier Restaurant next door for breakfast and supper. Food was great! Hotel staff w were friendly! Overall great option!

budget (almost) beach front motel

Liked: seeing the sunset from the grounds, comfy bed, budget price, layout of the room made it quiet and more private
Disliked: spotty wifi, chair with worn out upholstery, busted towel hooks, no luggage rack, seaview blocked by sister hotel

Liked: The hotel is right on the beach and has an amazing view. The room was nice and the tv was pretty big. The restaurant is a little pricey but it’s super yummy
Disliked: Our room faces the main road and at night the cars were extremely loud. It would wake us up multiple times which was frustrating.

Liked: We love the location- and although we enjoy the Cavalier’s views and amenities- we chose this due to its price and relative location.
Disliked: The heater was noisy so we had to keep the temperature down so it didn’t wake us up through the night.
