Surrounded by gardens and palm trees the San Simeon Lodge has an outdoor heated pool and deck seating along with rooms with a view of the Pacific Ocean one block away. Select rooms at the hotel have separate seating areas and patios. Disappointing

Liked: Location and price are always amazing here.
Disliked: The shower was terrible, either burning me or freezing cold and the water pressure was barely there. The bed was probably the most uncomfortable I've slept on in a hotel. The first night we got woken up at 3am to another guest opening our door- management was apologetic and gave us two free breakfasts but it spoiled the whole trip.

Liked: The staff was great, helpful and the location was perfect
Disliked: The bed was very uncomfortable I woke up with severe back pain. The walk heater is very outdated.

Great location to stay before...

Liked: Great place to stay before driving Big Sur. Staff very friendly & helpful. It was great to have the bar/restaurant on site.
Disliked: The only thing I would have loved would have been better weather!

Comfortable no frills motel in...

Liked: Beautiful location, good sized family suite and very clean. Great food in the restaurant although the lack of ambiance and decor lets it down which is a shame as the staff were all fabulous.
Disliked: For the price we paid I think breakfast should’ve been included.It was also a little noisy with sound carrying easily.
