This hotel has a great location right on Steinwehr Avenue, which is where much of the action is in Gettysburg. I probably wouldn't stay there if I were to go in the winter months only because you can only get your room from the outside. The pool and hot tub looked nice, even though we didn't get a chance to use them (only because our stay was so brief). There are plenty of vending machines for late night snacks. I like that the breakfast was free, and the breakfast cottage, just a short walk from the guest rooms, is a nice setting. But get there early because it gets crowded. The breakfast itself is nothing too fancy, but it's free, so who's complaining. Also, we didn't get a chance to go to the on-site "saloon." I think this hotel was great, but would be even better experienced in the warmer months. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly, but next time, I'm bringing my own pillow.

Pros: The rooms were very clean and just as they were advertised. The staff was friendly, and the location great!

Cons: The king-sized bed was nice and firm, but the pillows were tiny and way too soft. I had to bunch up three of them to make one.

This is a great location. You literally walk across the driveway and you are on the battlefield. I particularly liked Dobbins Tavern, about a quarter mile away for Dinner. It is an easy walk, once you get there go downstairs to the Tavern and try the roasted chicken.

Pros: The rooms are average and aging a bit. That is more than made up for by the location which is right next to the Cemetery Ridge portion of the battlefield. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Cons: The Exercise room was not open. I was there for 4 days and would have liked to keep my exercise routine.
