Pleasant - 3.0 out of 5

Virginia G, Prentiss, visiting Downtown Mobile Tue, 20 January 2015

Disliked: Room key was replaced 3 times; smoke alarm went off when I turned the heater on. The staff was very helpful; the evening young lady moved me to another room and was very helpful in our stay - you have a great employee in her. The hotel is in a great location - we went to a convention in the Mobile Convention Center, which is an easy walk. We would stay again.

100/10 do not recommend. I...

Liked: My Aunt and I were staying here for one night as we were about to board for a cruise. The only thing that I liked about this hotel is the proximity to the cruise terminal. However, there are multiple other hotels surrounding this hotel that I would much rather have selected.
Disliked: We can start with the fact that the facilities were very dirty, and did not appear taken care of. I accidentally dropped a piece of candy on the bed, and chose not to put it in my mouth due to the cleanliness of our room. The air-conditioning unit is practically on the ceiling so you have to get up on a chair to even adjust it not to mention the air coming from the unit wasn’t even really cold even with it being on the lowest temperature setting. Our room didn’t get to a good temperature until we woke up the next morning. I very much contemplated leaving and going to another hotel. Just about 30 minutes after walking in the door, let me just advise. I am not one to leave negative reviews however, this was just the line for me. Now let’s discuss the shower amenities, very much a joke. It is just a stand in shower no real divide between the shower floor and the regular bathroom floor. Tiles are cracked, very unclean, walls were visibly dirty. We even chose to wear our shoes while in the shower. We were called by facility staff towards the end of the night indicating there was an issue with our payment. That is all fine and well as I had to get a new debit card due to fraudulent charges and my new card wasn’t the card listed on file with Booking.com. We decided to just hunker down and order DoorDash since it was just for one night upon waking. The next morning were getting ready for our trek to the cruise terminal as we were getting ready. There was a very rude attendant knocking at our door requesting payment at this time, I was in the shower and obviously couldn’t leave the shower immediately to go make a payment. We advised that as soon as we get finished getting ready we will certainly be there to pay. It wasn’t 15 minutes later, still getting out of the shower we had someone else knock at our door, requesting us to come down for payment.

Disliked: The room was not very clean. We found something sticky on the counter. The microwave and refrigerator didn't work. The towels had stains and we found hair in the bathroom.
