Liked: We booked king room, asking for the top floor with ocean view which was not available and was upgraded to the double queen room with beautiful ocean view. The front desk service was excellent, let us check in 2hrs early, stay a little bit late. The room was spartan but comfortable, with a nice skylight in the bathroom. We were a little worried at first about the sound of the cable cars running right in front of the hotel but they stopped running at night, so no issues there. Great location in walk-in distance of the Golden Gate Park and lots of good, cheap (for SF) restaurants. Free parking!!!
Disliked: It would have been nice to have a second chair in the room for both guests. Sound proofing of the room isn’t great, but a quiet hotel when we stayed so not an issue.

Exceptional

Liked: It is in a great location. I come to UCSF for treatment several times a year now . This is my favorite it feels safer than any of the other places I've stayed 😊 free parking !!!
Disliked: I walk with a cane and there is no elevator. I grew up in the East Bay so this is pretty normal for vintage buildings . I was able to make it with the hand rail and by taking my time . I truly feel this is a great find

Comfy and convenient.

Liked: Great location close to Ocean Beach and Golden Gate Park.Food outlets nearby were good. The tram line was right outside the Hotel.The room was clean and comfy.
Disliked: The room suited all our needs.

Disliked: The front desk guy had very poor customer service. My friend fell on the stairs and he acted bother that she fell. Super rude.

Great Value & Location!

Liked: This was my second time staying here. It's a great value for the location. The room is very simple, yet clean and comfortable. This is the perfect place to enjoy San Francisco's highlights - Ocean Beach, GG Park, and close to wonderful restaurants and cafes. If you are looking for an affordable place to sleep and don't need all the extra amenities, this is it! Also, I love that parking is free and they let us leave our car at the hotel after checkout to continue to enjoy the city.
