Beautiful and centrally located property.
Liked: Our room was clean and spacious. We enjoyed the older windows that opened all the way and offered a wonderful view of the courtyard below and allowed us to listen to the street performers. The grounds are impressive and gorgeous and the location is perfect. We put the car in Valet and leave it there all weekend, as everything we needed was within walking distance.
Disliked: While checking out there was some confusion regarding parking validation so we were sent out to the Valet and back again. The second Guest Services Representative was able to handle the situation for us.

Liked: The rooms were spacious. The bed was comfortable. The decor was unique. The entire bell service team was top notch. Overall attentive staff with maybe a 10-15% meh at the front counter. Kelly's spa was amazing. Patty who showed me to my spa locker was so sweet. She checked on me several times. They also had fantastic fruit beverages and tasty fruits. Also, the chocolate-covered strawberries were amazingly decadent! Cynthia, the massage therapist could have had shorter nails for certain pressure points but was great at asking for comfort level. Lisa could have worked a few more knots on the shoulder. I probably could have done a better job communicating but otherwise perfect pressure and love the varying essential oil throughout the treatment. I enjoyed sampling the Palla skincare products in the locker. I wish there was a QR code or online shop for me to read the benefits and order online. They smelled amazing! Museum Tour: It was nice to get to see the closed off rooms that were only available for the tour. George the senior docent would have been great to learn more from. However, he was supporting Alexandra was docent-in-training. We think we would have heard many more stories if it was toured by George. We were hoping to get a lot more insight and storytelling than what we got on our own. We were curious about the various doors in each wing and the Asian art collection but we were happy to see the interior of the two chapels. Casey's cupcakes were beautiful and staff was kind.
Disliked: Mission Inn: The presidential lounge had different presidential drink options than the one from the front desk flyer. In example, the JFK cosmopolitan and the lemon drop were not on the one in the actual bar menu. I was really excited to learn more when I went to the lounge but the story line fell flat and were inconsistent from the flyer that draw me in. The mustache bartender was attentive and provided great recommendations to other guest! The bartender we had lacked personality, didn't get our food order right and didn't provide much service. In addition, the mai tai was very different from what I was used to and I wish he would have warned us. The empanada was delicious (as mustache bartender recommended to others) but a bit pricy compared to the other options like the huge nachos. I wish there were three to make up for the dispreportion in size.Kelly's Spa: The men's eucalyptus steam room was down so my partner couldn't try the steam room I raved about and got to enjoy. The Palla skinline was great to test out. I wish there was a QR code and/or online page I could read up on to purchase. It might be good to offer that to guest on their way out a a discount code to order after the trip. Mission Inn Museum Tour: We wanted to go Saturday and they said they only had 1 spot left. We ended up squeezing it in Sunday morning before driving out but they seriously could have added one more for Saturday as it's a walking around tour and had no seat limitation. Our docent was in training so we didn't get the full experience of learning more that we learned about from the bookstore owner who said she learned tons during the tour. Super bummed we had a to wait a day and it wasn't as informative as we hoped. Casey's cupcake: Too sweet for the topping and could be more moist for the cake.

Very noisy, don't expect to...
Liked: Has character.
Disliked: Very very noisy. Can hear everything going on around you. Unhelpful staff who don't seem to care if customers are happy with their room or not. Poorly maintained. Frequent bachelor parties, etc so other guests are loud and drunk, screaming... Undisclosed additional resort fee that was supposed to be included. Old bathrooms with stained bathtub showers. Room much smaller than shown in photos (in the deluxe King category the rooms vary in size greatly, from tiny to twice as large. It's luck of the draw.)

Undisclosed fees, noisy, unhelpful staff
Liked: The building was interesting.
Disliked: Very noisy. Could hear everything outside the room and people walking above. The room was half the size of the photos for this room category and they said it's because "it's an old building so the room sizes vary greatly in each category". The bathrooms are very old and outdated. The staff were not accommodating about a room change due to noise despite asking for a quiet room in my booking. The windows are leaky single-pane windows on a noisy street. They charged a resort fee despite the fact that it was supposed to be included in the Booking.com price. They got our room service breakfast order wrong, and it took 95 minutes to arrive (they had said it would take an hour) despite ordering it at 6:45am. 20% tip fee plus delivery fee included but they try to get you to pay more by labeling it a "management fee" instead. Expensive Wi-Fi and parking fees also not included.

Liked: This hotel makes you feel like youve left CA without actually leaving CA. The cultural richness and atmosphere makes the cost worth it. I felt like I was back in France. There to appreciate the history and be immersed in the experience.
Disliked: You need to reserve a spot for the tea time 48hrs in advance. This was not stated on the poster in the lobby. I wish I had known because I would have gladly tried to reserve a spot in advance.
