Marriott Downtown at CF Toronto Eaton Centre, Toronto

Overall had an excellent time. Loved how the pool was on the top floor with an outside balcony. I've never been to a hotel with such amazing, friendly service. Awesome job! Was not too happy with the 9p.m. noise complaint as there were only 2 of us in the room and I did not think we were loud at all, nor did the staff that came to the door. But we did tune it down (to basically whispering, literally) and did not let them ruin our time :)

Disliked: Found a floss stick in our room, but other than that, the room was clean.

Liked: Close to Eaton which is what we wanted. However, during our March Break stay, the fire alarm went off and we had to run down 18 flights to wait for fire crew at 4-5am. Staff didn’t seem to know what was going on and gave no advice. This ruined the next day excursion as we did not get any sleep. We asked the manager to stay on an extra night at a better nightly rate - could the manager help us out and do better than the $400/night that we booked at and he refused. So we packed up and left. Disappointing visit to TO and will not stay at Marriott Eaton again!!! I’m sure we were not the only guests who complained but the only answer given was the hotel would not sacrifice guests safety. I understand that - however, the manager could have done something to meet us in the middle and help the situation, as we were not asking for a free night!!! Our stay cost $800 for two nights. There are many other hotels nearby that I’m sure can’t afford to lose business so go elsewhere in TO.
