Liked the location and atmosphere - could have used some more personalized service.

Liked: Lives up to the Artistes name - much more enjoyable than a chain hotel.
Disliked: No maid service - we stayed 2 nights and were surprised that the room wasn't cleaned, bed made or given fresh towels after the first night.

Liked: This is a great property with loads of charm. The hosts are lovely and accommodating. If you're looking for the Hilton, don't stay here. If you want something local, charming and brimming with character, you will love this! It's quiet, clean, and the beds were comfy. Our garden view room (there isn't really much of a garden) had a small outdoor space with a cafe table and chairs. It was nice to be able to open the doors to enjoy the ocean breeze. The room had a sink, small fridge and microwave. They offer free parking (a big bonus in Del Mar) and it's within easy walking distance to everything you're going to love about the village in Del Mar...the great cafes, restaurants and fabulous beach. A very short drive to the race track and 10 minutes to the freeway. We would absolutely stay here again.
