Liked: If you’re looking for proper stay - that’s an option for you. Little things matter, and Kinney knows how to deal with them.

Superficially cute

Liked: Location was reasonably good. It's adjacent / near Abbott Kinney (but not really in Abbott Kinney... about a quarter mile walk away). You can walk about a mile to Venice beach. Marina del Rey is also nearby but across a busy 4 lane street.
Disliked: This is a tired and old facility that has gotten a facelift that makes it look superficially cute. Our room had JUST been painted (painters tape still on the bright blue door and the paint was wet which we figured out the hard way!). There were wood shavings and paint from the touch ups on the carpet when we came into the room. We mentioned to the front desk and they never sent housekeeping up to clean. The room was spacious but poor ventilation which required us to leave our internal courtyard windows open all night which was a security risk and made things very loud because the internal courtyards are like echo chambers and people were coming and going loudly all night long.

Overall great time.

Pleasant

Liked: Nicely designed hotel and rooms. Bed was really comfy. There’s safe parking, although they charge a fee.
Disliked: The pool was closed for maintenance and we weren’t told prior to arrival. We were sold an upgrade on the day or arrival by email promising a bigger room with city views, instead we had views on either a back wall or the corridor. No breakfast options nearby, no coffee or water in lobby.

Fabulous!

Liked: I love the King Suite is big and very comfortable. The location is great, such as the garage and the staff (super nice always). I use to come every time I visit L.A: to see my daughter which is studying there.
Disliked: This time the pool was out of order, but they advise me in advance and offer the pool of a sister hotel nearby.I love everything of the Kinney!

Bad

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: The pool area and all they advertise was closed. They didn’t let us know ahead of our 4 night stay. The manager was super rude. We left after 1 night to stay somewhere else.
