Hotel Indigo San Diego - Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego

We enjoyed dinner and drinks at the rooftop bar during our stay, and our bartender/server (I think his name was Chris) was EXCELLENT. However, once more people started to arrive, we felt very sorry for him as he was working the bar and tables completely alone and didn't have help. Still he was gracious, patient and polite - more than I can say for some of the patrons.

Liked: Loved the room decor; comfortable beds; very clean and comfortable overall.
Disliked: My traveling companion noticed a foul odor in the lobby. Other than that, everything was great.

Liked: Location. Walking distance to a lot of good restaurants, galleries, bars, stadium...
Disliked: Your valet parking fee is about double what it should be. You're not in Downtown New York or Los Angeles.

Exceeded Expectations

Liked: the room was large and clean and the bathroom was large as well. the shower pressure was excellent!
Disliked: really nothing, no criticism for these folks, they were great!

Liked: The staff were generally friendly and helpful if I overlook the new trainee who misinformed us about free perks that in fact were not free. Very convenient central location in the fun and energetic Gaslamp Quarter. Easy walk to Embarcadero and waterfront. Tons of bars and restaurants to choose from all within walking distance. No need for a car! The fitness room was well equipped and clean - I always enjoy using one on my travels.
Disliked: It would have been nice to have had the ability to make a good cup of coffee in our room and not have to go get an ok cup in the lobby. Robes are always nice to have so I missed not having one.

Perfect location in one of...

Liked: Ayla was absolutely a gem to deal with. She is a great asset to your hotel! We loved the location (we are Giants fans and being two blocks from Petco Park is perfect) and the food/drink choices at Table 509 are outstanding.
Disliked: It would have been nice to have our request for a late check out (from 11 to noon) granted, but not a huge deal.The main elevator didn't work when we arrived, but the staff was accommodating to allow us to use the service elevator.
