Troy, Wurtsboro, visiting Le Poisson Rogue Mon, 15 October 2018

If you get "upgraded", I would recommend declining the upgrade if it envolves the 18th floor. Nothing spectacular for a view of the city either so it's not worth putting up with the never ending noise.

Liked: Staff was courteous. Rooms were clean. Hotel was very nice.
Disliked: We were "upgraded" to a room on the 18th floor. I don't think "upgrade" should've been used as an adjective to describe this change in rooms. I'm not sure how small the other rooms are in the hotel but this room was pretty small for an "upgrade". We've stayed in 50 hotels in NYC and understand that most rooms can be small. This just wasn't expected as an "upgrade". Then there was the noise in our room, 1808. It was like sleeping in a mechanical room. It had a sound of either a high volume plumbing/mechaincal riser in the wall or that an exhaust fan was directly above the floor causing the air to be choked down so much that it created turbulence noise. Whatever it was, it was non stop. It never changed the entire time we were there. It actually kept me awake in the morning when I was hoping for a few extra hours of sleep.

Property management is lacking quality...

Liked: The location and staff
Disliked: The room, 206, had major issues. Window blind was missing and the hotel spotlight was located outside our window and it lit the entire room during the entire night. Not the best sleeping conditions. The AC/heat unit was extremely loud and woke us up every time it turned on. I turned it off and dealt with a cold room instead.

Decent but wouldn’t stay again

Liked: The male check in staff was very kind and attentive, he came through the cafe before 3 when rooms were ready to see if there was anyone waiting to check in. Always was kind and said hello when I passed him. Bellman was friendly as well & the location was great. Quiet yet close to everything you needed.
Disliked: Sheets were seemingly clean but had noticeable large holes in them. At the point I noticed, I was too tired to call down but not sure how or why housekeeping would put bad sheets on in a “4 star hotel”. Both women working were very rude to me. When checking in the girl took my passport & said ok your room isn’t ready and handed it back. I said ok when will it be ready and she rudely said 3 pm. Upon checking out, I called down and asked a different woman working the reception if they could send the bellman to help me take my 2 large bags + 1 carry on downstairs. She seemed confused why I would ask for help with bags & annoyed that I did. After waiting more than 10 minutes, I left my bags outside my room and made my way down to save time checking out. I mentioned to her that I was still waiting on someone to come for my bags and she seemed annoyed with me & said yes that’s because we don’t have a bellman working at this time so I had to send another staff member. Weird to me that you don’t have a bellman working at 8 am. Again this staffer also seemed rushed and was rude. No questions about how my stay was or apologies for the inconvenience this caused, she didn’t seem very happy to be working. I will say the woman who was called to take down my luggage (possibly housekeeping) was kind & sweet, would’ve much rather seen that energy with the girls behind the desk.

The hotel was below Expectations...

Liked: Location was okay by the water thats pretty much it
Disliked: Room was tiny, changed rooms ac units didn't work, hard to reach a response on phone front desk, the lights in the room was flickering a bit. There wasn’t really much around there minimum 15-20 walk. The rooftop was closed but the bar below indoors was open so thats okay i guess. Decor in the room tv and all is outdated. Only thing was decent was bathroom. One big problem is very limited space to unpack your stuff my stuff was sitting on the windowsill.
