Extra fees took away from...

Liked: OUTSTANDING STAFF.
Disliked: A lot of extra charges / fees added on to the basic price. NOT expected and NOT good customer service to NOT be told ahead of time .

Liked: The location was perfect for getting to the promenade so I was able to walk from Venice Beach to Santa Monica Boulevard. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Yummy brekkie!

Liked: Bathroom provides no privacy. Toilet door doesn't shut - leaving it open 4 inches. Unacceptable design for anyone traveling with a second person and wanting some privacy. Also only toilet has door. No place to change. Room has very old, frayed carpetin
Disliked: Didn't like it at all. Very motel-like, poor design in bathroom and old/dirty carpet.

Central location with a great...

Liked: Location was great. Central to base out of for all activities. Good breakfast and the staff were friendly.
Disliked: This area of the boardwalk where the hotel is located seemed to attract more homeless people and/or persons with substance issues than other areas we saw. While the variety of people certainly makes it interesting, it can be uneasy for families etc who are trying to vacation. No issues at the actual hotel though.

Nice but not transparent with...

Liked: Clean , location , good atmosphere
Disliked: They have hidden fees that they are NOT upfront with you with. After paying $1300 for 4 nights, they tell us at the check in that they need another deposit of $150 per night for “amneties fees” (Parking, towels, breakfast etc) So they charged $1900 for 4 nights, not $1300 like the online quote quoted us. I thought it was sneaky and definitely hidden. Liked the place , but no transparency. Will not return.
