By car: From Munich: - Take the motorway towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Follow the signs to "Grainau/Fernpaß" - Once you have passed through Garmisch take the first exit to Grainau ("Obergrainau/Hammersbach") - Take a further exit to Grainau on the left ("Eibsee/Zugspitzbahnen") - Continue until you reach the centre of the village and then turn left, crossing the "Unteren Dorfplatz" and passing the narrow point - Turn left into Alpspitzstraße From Ulm: - Take the motorway towards Kempten-Füssen and continue towards Reutte, Lermoos, Ehrwald - Once in Ehrwald follow the signs to "Garmisch-Partenkirchen" - Approx. 6 km after the German-Austrian border, you reach the exit "Grainau/Eibsee/Zugspitzbahnen" - Continue as above By train: - Travel to the station "Garmisch-Partenkirchen" - Take the bus (25 minutes) or a taxi (10 minutes) or take the mountain railway ("Zugspitzbahn") (20 minutes + a 10-minute walk)

Several golf courses, tennis courts, squash courts and further leisure facilities can be found in the surrounding area. For culture vultures the village makes the ideal base for excursions to the metropolises of Munich and Innsbruck, as well as to the castles of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof and many further attractions.
