Not worth the price

Liked: Comfortable bed and easy access to UT Austin. Friendly front desk service.
Disliked: This was a huge disappointment. To begin, we booked a king room on Booking, which I have confirmed in my email. We were given the keys to a room with two queens, then told that it was because our third-party service had sent over the reservation for a “standard room”. In 20+ accommodations I’ve booked through this website, that has never happened to me… just saying. We couldn’t change because they were completely sold out. No big deal. However, when we got into the room, it reeked of strong perfume that someone seemed to have spilled in the carpet (no escaping that), and the HVAC system was extremely loud to the point where I woke up every time it switched on despite using earplugs (and we had it turned up to 74 so this would happen as little as possible!). None of this was the end of the world, but we had fantastic accommodations in Dallas and Houston for the same (or less) cost, so this was jarring to say the least. Do better, Holiday Inn!!

Clean and good value with...

Liked: Clean and well maintained. Not much for amenities but to be expected. Pool deck was nice. Parking was a bit steep but easy to get in and out.
Disliked: A bit removed from downtown but walkable.

It was just ok, and...

Liked: Staff was very friendly and helpful--everyone, from the person at the front desk, to the security guard, to the folks managing the breakfast. The place is clean. The breakfast was good and there were options for the entire family. The gym had a decent amount of equipment. The pool was good and easily accessible.
Disliked: There were four of us in a suite with two double beds plus the pull-out bed from the couch. The mattress in the pull-out couch (which my daughter used) was horrendous. The fan didn't seem to respond to the thermostat setting. The blinds acted on their own accord. The switch sometimes worked and sometimes didn't work on one blind. None of the buttons worked on the second blind. The ice machine on our floor was not working. Elevator 2 wasn't working. The towels at the pool were so small that we each ended up using 2 or 3 towels each so probably ends up being more wasteful?
