Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Houston-Downtown Convention Center, Houston

The bedding was exceptional; the pillows were firm; very good stay. Never ran out of hot water - took a long shower after the concert. I really like the proximity of the hotel to all of the entertainment venues and to the many restaurants and bars. The Leland House Bistro was very tasty.

Disliked: I struggled a couple of times to get my card key to unlock my door. At one point I had to go down and have them redo my key.

The location is fine for downtown and the indoor pool and jacuzzi in the winter is great for kids and adults. Rooms are large and nice - a little run down.

Liked: The indoor pool and jacuzzi, but it was forever checking in even though the staff was really nice.
Disliked: Just couldn't check in on time.

Front desk was very helpful.

Liked: Location; clean; friendly staff.
Disliked: Nothing.

Disliked: There was extremely bothering noise during the morning. We called the front desk and they informed us about works being done upstairs. They said they would ask them to keep it quiet but the noise did not stop. We wanted to sleep before taking a 4h drive but it was impossible to sleep under those conditions.

Disliked: We were first given a room right next door to a room and area that was under construction Very loud also our first room was more dated and AC didn’t work but they did move us to a new room Should’ve assigned us to that room originally

Disliked: Breakfast quality basic. Room furnishings and light fixtures dated. Dark room, air conditioning quality poor.

Liked: The pool was pretty awesome. Nice and warm. The rooms were clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. Nice water pressure.
Disliked: After 15 minutes of arriving there was some sort of electrical fire between the 1st and 2nd floor. We had to evacuate. Then around 9 am the next morning a loud alarm(not alarm clock) went off and was on for about 3 minutes. Wasn't a huge problem but it was an inconvenience after traveling.
