clean and comfortable, but crowded

Liked: The pros: the place was clean and comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful. The location is convenient, right off the highway near Forest Park. We had the free breakfast one morning. The food was good, and they had plenty of hot options like eggs, sausage, potatoes, a waffle maker, etc which was nice.
Disliked: I realized from Booking.com that this hotel is popular with families, which is why we booked it (we were on vacation for my 10 year old stepson's spring break). However it was absolutely overrun with families with young kids (our fault for coming over spring break, I realize). We had a king suite on the 1st floor and we could hear kids making noise and running up and down the hallway as early as 7 am (not really a problem for us since we were with a child ourselves, but something that other travelers should be aware of-- the place was full of kids, and kids make noise). I chose to stay here because of the pool and free breakfast; however the pool was constantly packed with kids, to the point where we never used it. It was just too crowded. On our first morning, the dining area was so packed that we went out for breakfast rather than try to fight through the crowds. We did manage to grab some free breakfast on the 2nd morning. Basically the hotel was so crowded that we never got to use the amenities that I had chosen the place for, so that was disappointing. But I don't blame the hotel for this since it was clearly a high occupancy period. I would just say, be aware that this place seems VERY popular with families, to the point where you will hear kids being loud, and you may struggle for access to things like the pool or the dining room, especially on school breaks. Also, we were charged $10/night for parking which was ridiculous given the cost of the room. The place was comfortable, but not fancy, and I found it overpriced for what it was. Our stay was fine, but I won't come back.
