A fine hotel if you want to see a show at Mr. Smalls. Easy to get to Millvale from this location. Good coffee. Nice breakfast in the morning.

Stay away from this place.

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: Breakfast was in a brown paper bag. I had No hot water taking a shower, mold was growing and present in bathtub, a strong bad odor walking threw the hallway. The bed was uncomfortable and the pool area was closed. I called upfront to tell them no hot water. The lady was rude and stated well when they get lots of guest it takes more time to get hot water. Nothing they can do.

Passable

Liked: It was quiet
Disliked: It was dirty, stuff falling apart in the room, mold in the tub and the ice machines didn’t work

Ultimately, you get what you...

Liked: The location was very convenient, 10 minutes away from PPG arena. The check in was fast and friendly.
Disliked: The bathroom was not clean. There was toothpaste still on the faucet, the shower was not very clean, the hallways were very dusty. The fitness room water dispenser was not working. The walls were very thin and we could hear the other occupants use the bathroom through our bedroom wall. There was no grab-n-go breakfast when I showed up during the hours of availability. There was a 5 minute wait at the front counter while waiting to check out and leave.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Timothy Mon, 15 April 2024

Adequate but not optimal, that...

Liked: The room was clean and the bed was comfy. I slept well, which is the important part, I guess.
Disliked: McKnight Hotel is the type of place you end up at when your car breaks down at 7pm. This is what happened to me. Booking asked me if I came in via car/taxi, bus, plane, etc. Well I was brought in by tow truck, lucky me. I wonder if this hotel exists in between two rips in spacetime and all of its occupants wound up here through weird means. This hotel is sorta normal, sorta not. It straddles two realities.Their "grab and go breakfast" is as-pictured, barely constituting "breakfast." Just three snacks and water. Adequate but not optimal… (Though barely adequate, to be fair.)I've been at cheaper places who offer real food in the morning, so this is comical, especially since their lobby clearly has the space for breakfast, and the kitchen is right there beside the coffee table (which lacked hot chocolate in spite the check-in lady informing me of it). Adequate but not optimal…The check-in lady didn't even look at me until a few minutes after I said I had a reservation, when she began her spiel about the coffee, elevator, and something else. And the check-out lady, well, she would've preferred not to be bothered I think. Good thing I was just handing over a key card and not actually asking for anything else. Adequate but not optimal…The shower could've been a little hotter and cleaner around the edges, yet was warm enough to get by. Adequate but not optimal…Although the room was clean and felt good, there were clear chunks of wallpaper missing from years of the furniture edges hitting it, and the dark crevices around the wall AC unit was not a place I let my gaze linger. Speaking of the AC unit, its vents have been around the block. Yet I left it running on the same setting as when I arrived, and it kept the room comfortable.

Wonderful stay overall

Liked: Location is not too far from downtown. Good location.
Disliked: No breakfast option. But the staff did their best in providing some decent breakfast in the form of granola bars, juice and water bottles to all.Nearby breakfast options are also 5+ mins away.

Will not stay again

Liked: Did not stay long enough for breakfast, got a refund and left
Disliked: Room wasn’t clean, hair in the shower, bugs crawling on the floor, stained mattress and covers. Looked like someone was there 15 minutes before me. Told the main desk and the girl rolled her eyes and didn’t say nothing, walked away while on the phone, came back didn’t apologize for the state of the room. Just issued us a refund. This 100% has happened before
