Very quaint and within walking distance to Charleston Music Hall and restaurants. Staff was excellent.

The location is great - close to shopping, theaters, and great restaurants. It's a beautiful hotel and the staff could not be more friendly. I would recommend you go to one of the surrounding restaurants for a nice dinner rather than the one in the hotel but, other than that, this is a great place to stay while in Charleston.

Liked: It's beautiful and the view from our room was perfect.
Disliked: The restaurant food at the Swamp Fox was so so, but the waitress was great. The bathroom is really tiny, but it's an old hotel and I would rather they kept close to the old decor than wreck the rooms by modernizing them.

Great location for walking King Street shops. Great having a Starbucks in the building. Parking was convenient ( Charleston Parking Garage ) and was easy to locate.

Liked: Small but a very nice, clean, updated room. Helpful staff.

Liked: We’ve stayed at Francis Marion 6-7 times over the last couple of years. Always have the best stay. Staff is always amazing, room is always clean. Highly recommended deluxe king with a view. You can see the park and the harbor.

Liked: The location and public spaces were nice. The rooms are old, dark and tiny, especially the bathrooms. That said, there was storage for clothes, and the bed, though smaller than requested (double, not queen or king), was comfortable. The pillows needed replacing.
Disliked: The size of the bed and bathroom. The pillows were thin and hard.
