Best location for Everglades NP....

Liked: Room was pleasant enough. We had one facing the back parking lot. We felt safe enough also even after receiving multiple peoples advice of "don't stay in homestead". The location is right on the highway so plenty of places to eat, and best access for Everglades NP. Even a block or two away from hotel and "main drag" seemed sketchy, but we didn't have any problems. Breakfast was good enough (not quite on par with another popular chain) to get our day going.
Disliked: The area around the hotel seems a little sketchy. The pool closes "at sunset" and not sure what that is about - but we also didn't use the pool. it looked clean enough.
