Extended Stay America Columbia - Laurel - Ft. Meade

I checked in around 11 pm and the lady working the desk did not seem like she wanted to be there. "Can I help you with something", with a sneer on her face. What a great greeting! ... Most disgusting room I have had in at least 2 years, and I stay in a different hotel almost every week. Got stuck with a smoking room. Room smelled soooo bad! Ended up making all my clothes in my suitcase smell like an ashtray, even though I only opened it up once. When I lifted back the tops sheet, I see 3 cigarette burns in my sheet. Then I go to lay down and I nearly gagged. The smell of stale cigarettes impaled me from the pillows. It was disgusting! Luckily I had a personal pillow in my car, so I ran out to get it. Now that pillow is nasty too, yay! The next morning, I take a shower. As I grab a towel, it has a huge solid spot on it. Looked like a 3 inch paint stain. Threw it on the floor. Grabbed a second towel, it had a foot long black hair curled up in it. Ended up just using the dish towel to dry off with. Is listed as a 2-star, but I would have paid more to stay are a 1-star.

Met my expectations for a 1 star hotel. The tub was backed-up but maintenance quickly took care of the problem...no biggie. There is no sound proofing above and surrounding the room. The grab and go breakfast is not adequate. Facilities are clean. The free wifi is fine for light internet surfing. Upgraded wifi connections are available for a fee.
