Overall the hotel and staff...

Liked: Hotel was beautiful, staff was amazing, the water view upgrade i did was a plus!!! Felt this hotel surrounding was safe and comfortable to me and my family. Breakfast was good, no complaints. Would love to stay again!
Disliked: Being my first time in Oakland wasn't aware or expecting the high population of homeless people everywhere. Street view from the hotel isn't so great, very dirty, junk everywhere, lots of homeless people and tagging.

Liked: Price was reasonable for what we got
Disliked: Hot Tub was not functioning like expected (low power jets). We also planned on having dinner in house on our first night but staff did not show so both the bar and restaurant was not open. On our second night the bar was open but very understaffed and service was marginal. In fairness this was hotel's fault, not the single bartender that was working. She had to look after at least 30 patrons on her own. Also, we were warned several times that the area had a bad reputation for break-ins to vehicles so that did not make us feel comfortable. Is there not security watching client's vehicles?

Liked: Staff during breakfast was nice and helpful
Disliked: Wanted to enjoy the hot tub and jets were broken. Main purpose of staying here was for the pool and jacuzzi. Gym ac was making noise. Treadmill couldn’t use the fan because it was full of dust. Very outdated equipment. Front desk staff could have been more friendly/welcoming.
