This hotel was great value! Very close to Val-Air ballroom, and it has been renovated. I noticed at first that there are outdoor entries to the rooms, which would usually be a turn-off for me, but the hotel has obviously been renovated, has a nice pool area and was clean. We had an excellent meal at the BBQ place next door. We will definitely stay again.

We had a good visit...

Liked: It was near enough to Drake University, where we were going for a lecture.
Disliked: Waffle machine never really works well. It's not well attended and usuallyneeds spray oil which this didn't have. Coffee's too strong.

Basically awful

Disliked: Staff was all rude to my family, except for the lady who was cleaning the rooms (she was great). Juice was sour, pool was cold, double queen room was 2 full beds. Staff refused to give extra towels even though pool had no towels.

Disliked: I did not stay. I arrived with my son at the time designated no one was around. The parking lot was empty the door to the pool was ajar. It felt like an establishment I didnt belong in. I got out of there as quickly as I could. Gross.

Disliked: Mold on the bathtub/shower I am allergic to so I couldn't use the shower at all. Garbage can had garbage in it from previous guest or employees.
