Disliked: Paid for a double room with an ocean side view - got stuck in a single with a side view due to the hotel being overbooked. Management was unable to correct the problem due to my third-party transaction.

Nice Ventura Beach Hotel

Liked: We really liked the complimentary breakfast served downstairs in the dining room. The food was very good. A nice view from our room of the ocean. We liked the patio setup outside downstairs. Provides a nice place to sit and enjoy the ocean view. The room was comfortable for 2 people. Restaurants are within walking distance to the hotel. The valet employees were very nice and provided great service!
Disliked: The slider window was covered with water spots so we couldn't see out of our room through the window very well. The screen was hard to open. The heater unit was noisy. Would have preferred to see a coffee kiosk downstairs. We used the bar to order some coffee in the afternoon. The water dispenser in the lobby was gone on the 2nd day.

It was perfect the place...

Liked: It’s clean and beautiful and right on the ocean. Very convention get to and around town.
Disliked: Parking cost wasn’t mentioned before arrival. The train was annoying at first.

Last minute booking, but I...

Liked: The room was very comfortable. It was close to downtown and restaurants and still on the beach. The hotel was very dog friendly.
Disliked: No free parking. While I had an "ocean view," (partial) it was also a view of the roof with its duct work (very ugly) and the dumpsters. My room was right by the freeway, so traffic noise was very loud. Also my room was by the housekeeping closet and that was loud as well.

Very nice stay

Liked: The room and bed were very comfortable. The lounge was nice, Daniel at the bar was great at his job. The location was close to everything we wanted to do.

Liked: Location in Ventura is convenient and on the ocean shore
Disliked: Highway is next to hotel and is noisy throughout the night. Also a train track is near and the whistle alarm is startling and annoying. Staff is inexperienced and indifferent some to the point of being rude. House service forgot something each day, e.g., coffee pod, towel, etc. Self car parking is very inconvenient. Hotel parking is in a public parking lot. On weekends it became full. Had to use valet parking.

Liked: Location, clean/ updated room
Disliked: Staff very rude and unaccommodating . Small room and strange bathroom set up, the sliding door didn’t give privacy and with it open you are looking at the toilet
