While searching for wheelchair accessible hotels in Edmonton, we came across this hotel. The price was around the same as anywhere else, but since we have stayed at other Best Western Plus hotels and had a great experience, we thought this would be the same. Right after booking the hotel on this website we phoned the hotel directly to ensure we reserved a wheelchair accessible room. The staff assured us we had. The night before our arrival I called to confirm again, and was told the only wheelchair accessible room was no longer available as it required some repairs. They would cancel our reservation with no charge. This was unacceptable as the Garth Brook concerts were this weekend and hotel rooms were at a premium if you could find one. We ended up settling for a room in which we could not get a wheelchair into the bathroom. Added to that, the hotel is under renovations, the elevator is old, and to top it off, this Plus hotel no longer offers the free buffet breakfast to it's guests. Needless to say we will never stay at this hotel again, nor would we recommend it to anyone, but especially to anyone in a wheelchair.

Disliked: Room was ok, layout was wonky. Had to move the whole coffee station to the floor just to plug in and make coffee. The hyda-bed was broken so couldn't even use it. Bathroom needed some serious renos, desk in room was not sturdy at all.

Liked: The hotel staff were very accommodating. We arrived early and they ensured the room was ready in 10 minutes. That was greatly appreciated. The guests in the rooms beside & across from our had no regards for being quite they were noisy, allowed the doors to close with bangs, had the tv too loud and were knocking on each other’s doors and talking loudly in the hall. That is not the fault of the hotel it is just simply rude and inconsiderate guests of the hotel.
Disliked: See above, however it is not the hotel. The didn’t like was the reflection of the rude and ignorant guests for several hours after midnight.

Disliked: Booking was cancelled by hotel when got there at 11pm, after it was booked about a week in advance with note that a pet room was needed. Note on file from staff said that room would be a pet room, and just need to pay deposit for pets when arrive. Room was booked for pet's major surgery in the morning, staff member who signed off on confirming a pet room would be available was there and said no pet rooms available, unfortunately. They called their manager who said nothing could be done except cancel without charging the fee.We ended up paying more for a room for two nights because of this error on the staff member's part, and the lack of customer service on the manager's part. We asked if they could help us secure another room from their other location in town, because it was almost midnight, and we had just driven 10hrs from another province. They called the other location's manager and left a voicemail. That was all. We were left to find our own booking last minute, a bit out of town to try to recuperate some of the cost, and were further from the veterinary as a result. The hotel was pretty dirty, though, so it likely ended up better that we went somewhere else, but for having booked about a week in advance, they should have been able to follow through on what their staff member confirmed, and given a discount for the trouble. Very disappointing, especially with the nature of the trip being for medical needs.
