I had a great time at the Powell. I love the location - it was like 5 minutes from my venue. The staff was great when I had questions. Bed was comfortable.

Great location, good price, only...

Liked: The central location is excellent. The room is clean. The wifi and coffee maker work well. The front desk staff is helpful.
Disliked: The biggest problem was the Business Center. I tried to print, and I tried to scan, and neither worked. When the staff came to help, they couldn't make it work either, but they did later print and scan for me using the hotel's computers.The other disappointment was that the bathroom had only a shower not a tub.

Clean and comfortable hotel located...

Liked: Location in terms of proximity to conference. Also only 20 metres away from BART line to the airport. WiFi worked well consistently.
Disliked: Not the hotels fault but there were lots of homeless, anddicts and drug dealers immediately outside both entrances. This end of Powell Street is in steep decline with many of the shops closed. ( however if you walk about 250 metres north there are shops and restaurants.

Liked: Excellent location in terms of mass transit (cable car, BART, etc).
Disliked: The entire area around Union Square has fallen on hard times.

Liked: Location was fantastic, very central. Lots of restaurants about. Cable car stop beside hotel.It was very quiet in the hotel at night.Very clean as well.Cafe in the hotel was great as was the break out area.
