Liked: Breakfast is basic with bagels, bread, cereal, coffee and yogurt. Excellent coffee.Happy hour 5-7:30 is awesome with great snacks - fresh veggies, cheese, crackers, deserts and wine and beer. Great way to relax before heading out to dinner.

Liked: The evening snacks were great! Front desk staff were helpful in person.
Disliked: Building was quite warm and we were advised there was no individual temperature control option in the rooms. We were able to open the window though, and got the space cooled off that way. Attempted to reach the front desk by phone several times with general questions - nobody ever answered.

Disliked: At first, Seemed a bit run down. Things like piling on polyester bedcover and worn hallway carpets. But ok. And a great location. But then…we saw a mouse in our room on the 2nd night!! Staff were lovely, and seemed equally shocked…but not much they could do.

Liked: The location is very convenient for my purposes.
Disliked: The Alexander bills itself as a boutique hotel. I have stayed there over the years on short visits to Philadelphia and was shocked this time by price of over $400 a night for a room. Apparently there was a large education conference on town and the hotel took the opportunity to jack up prices well beyond what was reasonable. The hotel remains shabby, the TVs in the rooms are very small, breakfast is meager and the lobby and dining room not the cleanest. We came down for breakfast and the tablecloths were stained from the previous diners.

Disliked: i charged the hotel to a CC i dont use and only used for this stay. i checked in, the lady took my CC at the counter and then later asked for my name as clarification. then about 3 hours later that card i only used at the hotel was declined for fraud at gas station in Philadelphia. i dont live in Philadelphia, rather odd that a hotel would jack you CC but idk what else could of happened there. be careful people
