I thought the hotel was friendly and very inviting. Would recommend to friends and colleagues. When travelling on your own you need to feel safe and the hotel was warm and homely.
Very pleasant surroundings. Rooms were very comfortable felt more like home than a hotel room which can often seem cold and univiting
Room was a little cold heat wise especially the bathroom

I booked last minute, as in my work changes happen every hour, and I had tried to book the Best Western at Retford, having driven past the old bell several times but was put off by the front buildings, unaware that the actual hotel is BEHIND this!Wonderful, wonderful hotel and service!
Newly kitted out and refurbished, with excellent staff and very good location, the beds were superb!
Nothing, all of it was perfect!

The check in was a shambles - given the worng key, the room then allocated wasn't made up, the hotel was very dilapidated and in urgent need of a refurb - the bar was grotty and dirty. The staff whilst friendly and polite but this hotel needs a mjor refurb urgently.
